Battery and inverter manufacturer Redback Technologies has returned from a tumultuous start to the year – including a short period of voluntary administration – with the launch of a new range of solar and energy storage products.
Australia-based Redback Technologies has announced it will launch its next-generation solar and battery energy storage solutions, including single-phase and three-phase options, at the All Energy Australia trade show in Melbourne next week.
Included in the new range is the Hybrid battery system which according to Redback Technologies offers greater power capacity with storage options up to 19.2 kWh in combination with a 5 kVA or 6 kVA inverter.
The range also includes the high-voltage Hybrid Battery Max storage solution available with battery energy storage capacities from 10 kWh to 25 kWh.
Another new addition is the Hybrid Battery 3-Phase system which combines a 10 kVA – 29.9 kVA solar inverter with 15 kWh – 25 kWh of battery storage, with the option to expand capacity up to 50 kWh.
The latest new offering is the 3-Phase Grid-Tie Smart Inverter, which Redback says complements existing single-phase smart inverters. The new three-phase product offers up to 15 kVa of power, with a smart meter and Wi-Fi dongle included as standard.
Redback Chief Executive Officer Adrian Knack said the new range of solar and energy storage products has been specifically designed with installers and homeowners in mind.
“At Redback we understand that our installers are looking for a simplified installation that is safe for both them and the residents of the property where the unit is being installed,” he said. “We also know that as the cost of living continues to put pressure on Australian wallets, homeowners are looking for ways to save on their energy bills. When developing our next generation series, our goal was clear: to help solve these problems for our customers and bring new, improved and more powerful systems to market.”
The 3-Phase Grid-Tie Smart Inverter and Hybrid Battery System will be available for distributor and installer orders later this year, while the Hybrid Battery Max and Hybrid Battery 3-phase will be available from the first quarter of 2025.
Knack said the release of the new product range marks an exciting new chapter for Redback under control from fintech company Australia Ebon Group after entry voluntary management in March.
Knack said 2024 marks “many new beginnings” for the Brisbane-based company, with Ebon’s involvement bringing increased investment in innovation and R&D.
“Now we are unveiling our latest range of solar and battery solutions,” he said. “I couldn’t be more proud of the efforts of the entire Redback team and I’m pleased to already be seeing positive feedback on the range from our network.”
Knack said the company has more “exciting things” in the pipeline, including a move into the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector next year.
Redback said a prototype C&I unit will be on display at the All Energy trade show next week. Examples of the next generation product range will also be on display in Melbourne.
