A fire that broke out during a BESS project in Essex last week was brought under control and then returned to Sitebeheer within 24 hours.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said that firefighters responded to a fire brigade at the Battery Energy Storage System (Bess) project in East Tilbury, Essex on Wednesday (19 February). With close monitoring and a carefully controlled response, the crew contained the fire and ensured that there was no risk for the wider community, it said.
The next day (February 20) the service published an update in which he said they could scale their answer and handed the site back to Site Management.
Respond to a request for comment, Bess owner operator Statera Energy confirmed to Energy storage. that the project in question is of the company.
The company builds one 300 MW/600MWH Bess in Tilbury, called ThurrockOne of the largest substructure projects in the UK, in addition to a ‘flexible generation plant’ of 270 MW, a gas factory.
Statera said that it would not issue an explanation next to the fire brigade and did not mention it as the Thurrock site. But the location of the Thurrock project corresponds to that of the fire brigade in East -Tilbury.
