The Solarpower Summit In Brussels last week, European industry for solar and energy storage brought together with policy makers and the increasing frequency of zero or negative price events on electricity markets was an important talk point. A combination of increased flexibility of electricity networks, together with a rapid uprising of battery storage installations, has emerged as a solution.
Analysis of Rystad Energy, presented on the second day of the top, exposed the size of the challenge of the increasing frequency of negative prices on various European electricity markets. And with German solar installations that continue to exist quickly, the development is particularly clear.
