The European Commission approved a new auxiliary schedule on Monday for the use of large -scale electricity storage in Spain.
Subsidies will be available for independent energy storage sites, projects installed in addition to facilities for sustainable energy and storage planned as part of thermal power plants.
The program of € 700 million ($ 763 million), run by the Spain’s Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco), offers matched financing of a maximum of 85% of the costs of energy storage locations.
