Esti Energia, Esti Energia in Estonian State, has inaugurated the largest battery storage facility for batteries in the Auvere Industrial Complex in Ida-Viru County. The 26.5 MW/53.1 MWH system was developed to stimulate the stability of the regional electricity grid and to limit high peak electricity prices for consumers.
The project, which was supplied with a price tag of € 19.6 million, was put into use on 1 February only a few days before the desynchronization of the Baltic electricity system of the Russian schedule on 1 February.
In similar movements, just a day before it started to link out of Russian electricity grid and join the EU network, Lithuania announced 800 MWH Energy Storage tender for an amount of EUR 102 million ($ 105 million) with the aim of obtaining balance services from the transmission system operator and to guarantee the resilience of his schedule.
