Enel Noord -amerikaA clean energy has started with activities in the Estonian Solar + Storage Factory in Delta County, Texas. The 202-MW solar PV facility is linked to a 104 MW battery energy storage system.
“With this new project, Enel continues to deliver new clean electricity and flexible storage to meet the rising demand,” said Stephen Pike, head of Enel Green Power Noord -America. “The projects for renewable energy from Enel create real value for commercial and industrial companies on their journey to carbon. The Estonian project illustrates how the private sector will continue to lead the way in the American energy transition. “
Estonian Solar is supported by a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with BXP, a developer in the workplace, via a 21-MW part of the project. It is also supported by a PPA with Capri Holdings Limited, a fashion -luxury holding group and parent company to Versace, Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors.
“The Estonian Commercial Operation Milestone marks an important moment in the journey of the renewable energy of BXP,” said Ben Myers, SVP, Sustainability, BXP. “Through our partnership with Enel we support the acceleration of the energy transition by adding extra, large -scale clean power capacity.”
The Estonian Zonne -Zon is expected to generate around 499 GWH of clean electricity every year, equal to the needs of more than 46,000 American households. The construction of the factory created around 400 building tracks, together with various new permanent local positions for operations and maintenance.
During his life, the hybrid project is expected to generate more than $ 23 million in new local tax revenues for schools and public services. Enel maintains approximately 5 GW installed wind and solar capacity and 1.3 GW installed battery storage capacity that supports the ERCOT grid. Enel also manages around 200 MW of demand response capacity in Texas.
