The new production facility requires an investment of CNY 8 billion ($ 1.1 billion) and will be located in the province of Sichuan, Schuan.
State Power Investment Corporation (Spic) broke ground on a 10 GW very efficient heterojunction (HJT) Solar Cell and Module Manufacturing Project in Suining, province of Sichuan. The project, with an investment of CNY 8 billion ($ 1.1 billion), will be built in two phases. The first phase, which covers 480 hectares with an investment of CNY 5 billion, will include a 5 GW HJT sun cell and module production line, with initial operations that are expected to start by October 2025. Energy Technology Co., Ltd., which own own Copper-grid heterojunction (C-HJT) technology developed, to replace precious silver by copper for cell buses. This innovation has helped to reduce production costs and at the same time improve efficiency, with the latest study achieving a conversion efficiency of 26.49%, with regard to important commercialization challenges for HJT technology.
The solar manufacturer based in Italy Futurasun announced the completion of the first phase of its new production facility in the province of Huai’an, the province of Jiangsu. The project, with a total investment of CNY 5 billion, is being developed in two phases. Once fully operational, the factory has an annual capacity of 10 GW for solar cells of the N-type and 2 GW for modules. With the completion of the first phase, the facility started with an initial cell capacity of 5 GW.
Tianyong New materials Announced that further investments would stop in its planned photovoltaic film production project, originally designed to produce 150 million square meters per year. Instead, the company will re -assign the remaining CNY 34.54 million to collected funds, including accrued interest, as working capital to support business activities. From the announcement date, the project had reached 63.15% completion, using all invested funds for buying and installing production equipment. The company noted that the acquired equipment can be adjusted for other solar energy projects, which prevented financial losses by the cancellation.
China Three Gorges Group (CTG) The list of nominated candidates released for the second phase of the 2024 photovoltaic inverter framework for inverter cream cramework. The selected companies include Sungrow, Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric, Shanghai Chint Power, TBEA and Zhejiang Rifu Electric. The tender comprises 300 kW and larger string -in -formers and associated equipment for the solar projects of CTG, with an estimated total purchasing volume of 3 GW. As a framework agreement, contracts remain valid with successful bidders until 30 June 2025, with delivery agreements that are negotiated for specific projects if necessary.
