Ubiqd, A player in Quantum Dot technology and production from New Mexico announced that the Perovskites will acquire Startup Bluedot Photonics. The deal enables UBIQD to guarantee exclusive rights to the intellectual property of Bluedot, which was originally developed at the University of Washington.
Ubiqd will use the doped PEROVSKIET materials from Blueedot to improve the efficiency and performance of the Silicon Solar Panel.
“Solar energy remains the backbone of the transition from renewable energy, but the industry is still confronted with efficiency and cost restrictions,” said Hunter McDaniel, founder and CEO of Ubiqd. “Blueedot pioneered a transforming approach with quantum cut – essentially multiplying usable photons to improve energy shelter. By bringing their technology to our portfolio, we are positioned to accelerate the next generation of solar materials and to stimulate meaningful efficiency transactions to scale. “
Ubiqd works with Quantum Dot technology in the solar space. Quantum spots are semiconductor nanoparticles that show a very efficient photoluminescence over a wide range of adjustable colors, making them effective in optimizing light spectra. In 2023, Ubiqd collaborated with thin-film solar manufacturer first solar energy to explore ways to absorb quantum lotting technology in advanced solar panels. The company was also awarded An advanced energy pilot program from the State of New Mexico Economic Development Department to strengthen the advanced solar energy -innovation and commercialization of Ubiqd. Early 2024, Ubiqd started a collaboration With Los Alamos National Lab to explore quantum -reinforced materials for applications for clean energy.
“Bringing our work to Ubiqd is an exciting next step for this technology,” said Jared Silvia, co-founder and CEO of Bluedot. “Our mission has always been to push the boundaries of solar efficiency, and Ubiqd has the expertise, infrastructure and industrial partnerships to bring this to the market.”
