FranklinWH energy storage unveiled the next generation of its whole-home energy management solutions at the RE+ trade show this week.
The aPower 2 lithium iron phosphate battery system has a capacity of 15 kWh and a continuous output power of 10 kW. FranklinWH has also extended the warranty on the battery system to 15 years or 60 MWh of throughput, which equates to more than 10,000 cycles.
“We are committed to a better, energy-independent future, powered by a steady pipeline of product innovations,” said Gary Lam, co-founder and CEO of FranklinWH. “Our solution upgrades demonstrate our focus on both incremental progress and big achievements, ensuring meaningful progress every step of the way that creates more value for homeowners and enables them to make their homes smarter and more resilient.”
For larger applications, the aPower 2 can be stacked up to 225 kWh or 15 aPowers per aGate. Using fanless convection with whisper-quiet operation, the battery is also significantly quieter and more reliable than traditional industry-standard fan-cooled batteries.
The updated aGate, the company’s intelligent controller, was also unveiled today. It now features simpler installation and wiring, a generator module and Bluetooth commissioning to avoid internet interruptions. Two aPowers can now also be connected to the aGate via a quad circuit breaker, eliminating the need for a combiner box.
The FranklinWH app has been improved with updated images, a smart voice assistant for hands-free commands and new energy data analysis. Homeowners can take further control of their energy consumption through Smart Control capabilities, including custom scheduling, improved energy balance and more control options for FranklinWH Smart Circuits. Finally, the new Smart Voice Control can also provide homeowners with AI-enabled instant responses for seamless, immediate support when needed.
“At FranklinWH, we are proud to offer whole-home solutions that help homeowners future-proof their homes against rising costs and power outages,” said Vincent Ambrose, Chief Commercial Officer at FranklinWH.
