PureSky Energy has announced the operational launch of a new 2 MW community solar project in Gouverneur, New York, marking PureSky’s 19th location in the state.
“We are very pleased that our joint location in Gouneur is coming online,” says Nicholas Topping, VP community solar at PureSky Energy. “We are extremely proud of all the hard work that went into building this site, from our development team to our landowners, and are grateful for the City Governor’s support of the industry.”
Support also comes in the form of partner companies and members of the communities where we build solar. CarMax is a regular customer and has subscribed its stores in Buffalo and Albany, New York, to PureSky’s Gouverneur I community solar farm. The company’s commitment is critical to the success of this program and contributes to New York’s energy transition goals.
“We are proud to partner with PureSky Energy to support their efforts to expand community solar access and further advance New York State’s transition to renewable energy,” said Ali Woodworth, CarMax’s director of EH&S and Energy. “Community solar programs are part of our ongoing commitment to positive social impact and building sustainable value for our local communities.”
