The Zuni Youth Enrichment Project announced plans to install a 26.88 kW solar panel with help from Everybody Solar. The solar installation project will enable ZYEP to translate energy cost savings directly into youth programs, further supporting their mission to empower Zuni youth.
“This solar energy initiative represents a pivotal moment for our organization and the Zuni community,” said Tahlia Natachu-Eriacho, ZYEP Executive Director. “By harnessing clean energy, we not only reduce our impact on the environment, but also create more opportunities for our youth to thrive. It is a testament to our commitment to building a sustainable and vibrant future for Zuni children.”
ZYEP also plans to use the solar energy installation as an educational tool, giving presentations and developing information materials to raise awareness about renewable energy among youth and community members. This initiative builds on the successes of ZYEP, with 95% of youth participants reporting improved health as a result of ZYEP programs.
“We are happy to collaborate with ZYEP on this impactful project. By providing clean energy solutions, we are supporting ZYEP’s critical work in youth development while promoting the adoption of renewable energy in indigenous communities,” said Myriam Scally, Executive Director of Everybody Solar. “This project embodies our mission to protect the environment and empower communities through solar energy.”
