Vanguard Furniture and Pisgah Energy teamed up again to design and install two roof-mounted solar projects at Vanguard’s Frame Plant 2 facility in Conover, North Carolina. These systems, with a total capacity of 188 kW, build on Vanguard’s previous solar energy installations.
Frame Plant 2 now has 438 solar panels that increase power to the building. With the addition of this array, Vanguard now has a total of 1,590 solar panels spread across three facilities.
“We are grateful to Pisgah Energy for helping us reach another milestone in our commitment to sustainability,” said Andy Bray, president and CEO of Vanguard Furniture. “Removing the equivalent energy consumption of 128 homes from the grid is significant and we are proud to be advancing this important initiative.”
Pisgah Energy served as general contractor and designed and installed the project using American-made Mission Solar panels. According to Evan Becka, president and senior project developer of Pisgah Energy, “The addition of the Frame Plant 2 solar panels truly illustrates Vanguard’s commitment to utilizing solar energy in all of its facilities. It is an honor to work with a company so committed to reducing its impact on the environment and we look forward to joining forces again in the future.”
