Asset Investment Manager Alphareal has taken over five solar energy projects in the United Kingdom in transactions worth more than £ 160 million.
The largest of the acquisitions is the 66.6 MWP Bockingfold Solar Farm, a PV power plant mounted on the ground in Kent. Volalia developed the project and received a 15-year contract for difference (CFD) at the fifth auction in 2023, when a total of 56 solar projects with a combined capacity of 1,928 MW were protected.
In December 2024, the permitted development was undertaken by London-handquartered ELM trade and is currently under construction. It is expected that it will start to generate strength in mid -2026.
Alphaeal has also committed capital on three solar energy plants developed by European energy. The locations, located in Bath, Aberdenshire and Lincolnshire, have a combined capacity of 114 MWp. They are expected to generate electricity in the first half of 2025.
The 19MW Marksbury Plain Solar Farm in Bath is covered by a multi -year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Asahi Europe & International (AEI), the International Branch of the Food and Beverage Company, Asahi Group Holdings.
The final acquisition includes a 4.98 MWP operational solar power plant in Wiltshire developed by Q Energy Europe GmbH. Alphaeal said that it has an active income profile with another 11.5 years of index-linked subsidies.
The two have an existing relationship: in June last year, Q Energy announced that it had sold a 33 MW substantiation of a PV factory in the northeast of England to Alphaeal. The Whinfield High Grange Solar Development was one of the two of the Solar assets of Alphaeal to obtain a CFD in allocation of six (AR6) last year.
Raza Ali, investment director for renewable infrastructure at Alphaeal, explained that the investor only takes full ownership positions in his acquisitions and that it only assumes assets with land, planning and grid connection dates.
The range of renewable infrastructure from Alphaeal follows a diversified VK-wide investment approach in which it mainly invests in Onshore wind and ground confirmation assiva. In AR6, it also provided a CFD for its 12.9 MWP CE Tacher turbines onshore Wind energy station.
