OneEnergy Renewables, a public utility company, has entered into an asset purchase agreement with We Energies, Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPS) and Madison Gas and Electric Company (MGE). Through this agreement, OneEnergy will build two utility-scale solar projects, totaling approximately 165 MW, both located in Columbia County, Wisconsin, helping Wisconsin make significant progress toward its clean energy goals. The two sites are named Good Oak (98 MW) and Gristmill (67 MW), which reference and pay tribute to the area’s natural habitat and local history.
In order to provide complete solutions for its partners, OneEnergy develops and builds projects with transfer during commercial activities. The projects will be built using union labor and employees from across the state. The power produced by these sites will help Wisconsin reach its goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.
“At OneEnergy we are committed to developing high-quality projects that are built to last. We are fortunate to work with a great group of landowners hosting these projects and are excited to build them for an equally strong group of utility partners,” said Eric Udelhofen, VP of development at OneEnergy.
The projects are expected to be constructed in 2026 and 2027 and are intended to provide long-term energy benefits to Wisconsin communities and help advance the state’s leadership in renewable energy generation.
