IHI Power Services Corp. (IPSC), a provider of asset management, O&M, remote operations and compliance services, has been selected by Doral Renewables to provide asset management services for three large utility-scale solar projects in Starke County, Indiana: Mammoth South Solar, Mammoth Central I Solar and Mammoth Central II Solar.
This award follows Doral’s initial selection of IPSC to provide asset management services for the Great Bend Solar project and the Mammoth North Solar project, the first phase of the Mammoth Solar project. With all four components together, the Mammoth Solar Project is expected to generate 1.3 GW of energy. Full construction of the remaining three phases is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025, while the first phase will become operational in the coming weeks. The Mammoth Solar project will spread throughout Starke and Pulaski counties in Indiana, generating millions of dollars in tax revenue for the counties while creating hundreds of jobs.
Mammoth Solar is also central to Doral Renewables’ agrivoltaic initiatives – including the integration of livestock grazing and crop production – allowing local farmers to continue operations, maximize land use and generate additional value. In recognition of these efforts, the Mammoth Solar project was named Dual Use Plan of the Year at the inaugural North American Agrivoltaics Awards in July. At the same time, the state of Indiana presented a proclamation forever declaring July 9 as Agrivoltaics Day in Indiana.
“Doral’s continued trust in IPSC to support their growing number of solar projects demonstrates its commitment to the high-quality services IPSC provides,” said John R. Keller, President & CEO of IPSC. “We feel privileged to bring our expertise to Doral’s table, aligned with their vision for the project and in support of Indiana’s local communities. This ongoing partnership underlines our commitment to growing together with the renewable energy sector.”
